Why this site exists
AI API pricing is fragmented, inconsistent in format, and changes frequently. Vendors publish rates in different units — tokens, characters, seconds, credits, images — which makes any two-provider comparison require mental gymnastics. Some vendors bury pricing in marketing copy. Some publish rates in a currency of their own invention (credits) without clearly stating what a credit maps to in real-world cost. A few don't publish rates at all and require you to sign up to find out.
apiledger.in exists to collect those numbers into one place, convert them to comparable units, note the date we last checked each one, and link back to the source so you can verify it yourself. The goal is not to tell you which tool to use — it's to give you the raw pricing data to make that call yourself.
How the data is collected and maintained
Prices are checked manually against each vendor's official pricing page or developer documentation. We don't scrape, infer, or estimate — if we can't find a number on the vendor's published pricing page, we either show "check source" or skip the field entirely rather than guess. Each data point has a verified date: the last time we confirmed the figure matched what the vendor was actually charging. When prices change, we update the data and the verified date together.
We track a deliberately focused set of tools — the ones that come up most often in developer decisions, not every API that exists. Coverage will expand over time, but we'd rather track a smaller number of tools accurately than a larger number loosely.
Independence and editorial policy
apiledger.in has no commercial relationship with any vendor listed on the site. There are no sponsored placements, paid rankings, affiliate links, or referral commissions. Advertising displayed on the site (Google AdSense) is served by Google and is not related to or influenced by the vendors covered in the pricing data. The order tools appear in the tables is not a ranking — it reflects the order they were added to the dataset.
Who runs it
apiledger.in is an independent project run by a solo developer who uses AI APIs regularly and got tired of the comparison problem being unsolved. There is no company behind this site. Questions, corrections, and data updates can be sent via the contact page.
